We are All Fake: The Second Biggest Mistake in Business

Feb

I’ve decided to piggyback my previous post with another about something most entrepreneurs lose sight of during the course of running their business.

They lose their voice of authenticity.

Most business owners aren’t reinventing the wheel. They are not following “The Road Not Taken.” The road most of us travel is muddied and inundated with the innumerable footprints of the many who came before. It is not necessarily our job as entrepreneurs to blaze the trail, but it is our job to become an authentic voice proclaiming our message.

What separates the leaders from the followers, the successes from the failures, the Alphas from the Omegas, is the simplicity and authenticity with which they convey they message.

No matter your business, if your Unique Selling Proposition (USP) can’t be said simply and clearly, you shouldn’t be selling whatever widget or service you sell because you do not understand it well enough.

It’s that simple.
